Nine-year--old Justin Wallheiser struggles under the weight of an hour's harvest of bay scallops from the Gulf of Mexico, just outside the Steinhatchee River on opening day of scallop season, July 1st. Steinhatchee is known for it's scallop harvest every year which causes the city of Steinhatchee to swell with visitors in search of the easily harvested shellfish. Hotel rooms at places like the Steinhatchee Inn book 2-3 years in advance during the scallop season..CONTACT Carla Hotvedt at SILVER IMAGE Photo Agency and Weddings 352.373-5771 or carla@silverimagephotoagency.com
