Nuisance Gators -- Spring mating season and they travel -- Alligator trapper Pete Kinnamon and Wildlife officer T.L. Young pull an eight-foot female alligator from a sewer pipe in Lakeland, Florida. The reptile had been seen in the sewers for several days, thrashing and hissing at anyone near it. Kinnamon killed the gator before pulling it from the sewer opening. Gators migrate in the spring during their mating season and have been removed from swimming pools, homes, garages, backyards, highways and other areas inhabited by people. Besides searching for a proper mate, alligators roam to find fresh sources of water in dry periods or because of habitat destruction.
