A young guest on tour at the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm south of Ocala gets a pleasant surprise when the children were allowed to sit on back of one of the Gypsy Vanner horses. The 2-hour tours begin with owner Dennis Thompson telling the story of how he and his late wife Cindy discovered the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed, as well as his interaction with the culture of the Gypsies. The second part of the tour allows visitors to meet the horses, "mule moms," and parrots. Reservations are required, and carrots are welcome. Shown at left is a trainer.
