HurricaneInProgressSILVERIMAGEphotoagency.JPG

Standing up to the hurricane force winds of Hurricane Frances are Branden Depicciutto and Bob Luden (in yellow raincoat slicker) by the Intracoastal Waterway in West Palm Beach looking towards Palm Beach, Florida. The 2004 hurricane season changed the way most Floridians (and insurers) reacted to nature's seasonal and unpredictable assaults on the Sunshine State. These two hurricane-watchers were out for some fun during Hurricane Frances, something not recommended by police. During the 2004 August-through-September period, it was the only time in recorded history that four hurricanes affected Florida in one year. Those living in the state then still remember the devastation, loss of life, extended power outages and fear that began with Hurricane Charley, then moved to Frances (the size of Texas), Ivan and Jeanne.
