A "mule mom" at the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm watches a tour group on the 40-acre property south of Ocala, Florida. This and several other mules -- <br />
mules are the offspring of a donkey and a horse -- do not have the genetic capacity to breed but are able to carry implanted embryos and give birth. Embryo transfer is one option used by the farm's owner to maintain the DNA-verified Gypsy Vanner genetics. The farm promotes understanding of the Gypsy Vanner horse breed with tours and outreach.
