Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission biologist Steve Nesbitt grimaces in pain as a young sandhill crane resists his helping hand. Nesbitt was involved in a long-term tagging project at Paynes Prairie State Preserve south of Gainesville, Florida, which helped biologists determine that the migratory birds come south from Wisconsin, Michigan and parts of Ontario, Minnesota and Manitoba. This previously tagged chick was taken back to the research lab after showing drastic weight loss in the previous two weeks. .CONTACT Carla Hotvedt at SILVER IMAGE Photo Agency and Weddings 352.373-5771 or email@example.com.
