Wild alligators soak up the sun along the shoreline at Deep Hole in Myakka River State Park, Florida. The gators gather en masse at the sink hole during the dry season. A small number of visitors permits are allowed each day to hike the three miles to this location. Located southeast of Sarasota, Myakka River State Park is one of Florida's oldest and largest state parks. The "Florida Wild and Scenic Myakka River" flows through 57 square miles of wetlands, prairies and woodlands.
